Cannabis Cup Winners 2016

It’s been a pretty good year for grass in California so far, and February was no exception.

The High Times Cannabis Cup rolled into Southern California this month, and the results are in: As always, weed came out on top. Of course, the awards were a bit more specific than that. So here’s a breakdown of some of the many winners.

 

Best Indica Flowers

This category covers indica marijuana flower – the smokeable stuff. First place went to Grape Stomper, a strain from Mass Cannabis. Second went to Kushco OG by The W.E.E.D. Studio City and Kushco, while JAH Cookies by JAHnetics took third.

 

Best Sativa Flowers

Mega Queso won first place in this popular category, while You Don’t Know by Lorax Labs, CannaSutra, and 420DLVRY came in second. Purple Tangie by Greenwolf and Ziensrein Garden rounded out third place.

 

Best Hybrid Flowers

The top prize for hybrid strains went to CannaSutra OG from CannaSutra, Lorax Labs, and Chronic Capital. LA Dizzy OG by Crown Genetics and Greenwolf was second place, and Starkiller OG by Rare Dankness came in third.

 

Best Indica Concentrates

Greenwolf, Loudpack, and Moxie Genetics produced the first place indica hash oil with Strawberry Banana, while Crown OG Live Resin Sugar by Crown Genetics took second and Josh D OG Kush by The Kind Center and Unregistered Extracts finished third.

 

Best Sativa Concentrates

Zienstein Gardens, Loudpack, and Moxie Extracts were first in this hash oil category with their Purple Tangie. Second went to Quality Concentrates and its Lucky 13, and third went to Crown Genetics, Green Tree Remedy, and Dabblicious Extracts with their Strawberry Crown Live Resin Crumbles.

 

Best Hybrid Concentrate

Strawberry Banana Lemonade by Greenwolf and Moxie 710 led the pack of hybrid hash oil, with Zkittlez by Southern Humboldt Farms Collective taking second and Chemical Dawg by Critical Concentrates third.

 

Best Edibles

A diverse field of edible contestants was winnowed down to three: 500mg Pizza Sauce by Clean Healing in first, Peanut Butter Milk Chocolate Crunch Punch Bar in second, and Gravity Lock with Paris OG by MaGooch in third.

 

Best Non-Solvent Hash

The top prize for the best hash went to Strawberry Banana Flower Rosin by Green Giant Grows and Crown Extracts. Second place was Kimbo Kush Cubantech Drysit by Exotic Genetix. Third was Kookies by Moxie and Nevada Pure.

 

Best Product

This category includes marijuana products that aren’t flowers, concentrates, hash, topicals, or edibles. Krypted Inc. took first prize for its Krypted Inc. Medicated E-Juice, while Caviar Gold won second for its Caviar Gold, and Cloud V took third with Cloud V Electro.

 

Best Topicals

Prana Roll On by Harborside Health Center won first place in the topicals category. Veganic Dragon Balm by Buds and Roses Collective took second. And third place went to Treat It – Extra Strength Pain Stick by Gem Stonz Botanicals.

 

Best Glass

Phunky Feel Tips by Phunky Feel Tips placed first among glasswork, while Moxie X Hitman Recycler by Moxie was second, and Nexus Glass by Vader/Nexus was third.
